Spaghetti Bolognese

This is a classic Italian pasta dish featuring a rich and savory meat sauce served over cooked spaghetti noodles.

Ingredients

1 pound (450g) spaghetti noodles
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 carrot, finely chopped
1 celery stalk, finely chopped
1 lb. Reminisce Angus Ground Beef
1 can (14 ounces/400g) crushed tomatoes
1 can (6 ounces/170g) tomato paste
1/2 cup (120ml) beef or chicken broth
1/2 cup (120ml) red wine (optional)
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon dried basil
Salt and pepper to taste
Grated Parmesan cheese, for serving
Chopped fresh parsley, for garnish (optional)
Instructions:

Cook Spaghetti

Cook the spaghetti noodles according to the package instructions until al dente (firm to the bite). Drain the cooked noodles and set aside.

Prepare Sauce

In a large skillet or saucepan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion, minced garlic, chopped carrot, and chopped celery. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the vegetables are softened, about 5 minutes.

Brown Meat

Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned and cooked through.

Add Sauce Ingredients

Stir in the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, beef or chicken broth, red wine (if using), dried oregano, dried basil, salt, and pepper. Bring the sauce to a simmer.

Simmer Sauce

Reduce the heat to low and let the sauce simmer gently for about 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally, to allow the flavors to meld and the sauce to thicken. If the sauce becomes too thick, you can add a little more broth or water to thin it out.

Serve

Once the sauce is ready, spoon it over the cooked spaghetti noodles. Garnish with grated Parmesan cheese and chopped fresh parsley if desired. Serve hot and enjoy!
